When the sun does appear it is quite fierce at this time of year when we try to use the outdoor facilities as much as we can. All the children are taught to be aware of the dangers of sunburn and are encouraged to SLIP on the 'T' shirt, SLOP on the sun cream and SLAP on a hat. Children are encouraged to use their own cream and this should be applied at home - especially for the younger pupils. Baseball hats with the school logo are available from the H.S.A., but any hat is better than none.
Fortunately the wonderful spreading horse chestnut tree provides a good shady area at playtimes.

Barnabas Award
Following our entry in this competition we were delighted to receive a Merit Award and a prize of £50! The children's work will be on display with all the other entrants from 5th June in Truro Cathedral and is well worth visiting if you are in the city. The presentation ceremony will be on Sunday 11th June in Truro Cathedral at 2:30pm
