Red Nose Day

All the children enjoyed wearing non-school uniform, eating cakes and watching and performing in "St Mabyn's got Talent". They raised £180 for Comic Relief.

Surf photographer's trip.

Some children from St Mabyn and from St Tudy had a trip to Polzeath with surf photographer Mike Newman. Un fortunately there were no surfers in the sea but they still managed to take pictures of waves and patterns on the beach. At last they found an obliging surfer called Wailin who posed for them with his board.

Blotting ink

Class 2 tried writing with quill pens and ink. They found that it smudged and ran so they experimented with blotting it. A powder called pounce was used in the past to blot ink. They experimented with sand, salt, talc and blotting paper. The finest powder or blotting paper worked best,

Post office visit

Some children from class 1 visited the post office to find out all about posting letters. Katie was allowed into the postoffice to sell a stamp to her friends.
