Class 2 visit lavender Cottage

Class 2 visited Lavender Cottage to find out about the Hamley family who lived there in Victorian times. They looked at a collection of things that might have been used by people living in the house in the past. The children played with old games and toys, read old books, fetched water from the well and fed the chickens. They drew a collection of old kitchen utensils. They also looked at the things that had been dug up in the garden including clay pipes, china dolls, a lead soldier, broken china, a glass bottle, buttons and jewelry. These things gave them clues about the lives of people in the past.
